exhilarating place to be in. Internship - Context: Today, the access to information is unlimited with the surge of interactions provided by social
media. A Customer makes its decisions based on much more than Location of a Store, Price, and
Product Availability. The Customer wants to have an Experience that is swift, and seamless, in the
same way that this experience occurs when browsing different social media such as Facebook,
Instagram, Pinterest, etc. In Stores, the provision of service and items, is purely based of the transactional/historical data
that the Buyers from the Retailers have to drive their decisions on what to buy, in which stores to
place it, how to sell it, and finally even which items should have more display than others.
Moreover, the Customer Experience is also only influenced by the study of patterns in the
Retailer’s own store. Internship - Introduction: Whilst today’s world has a set of unparsed information available to Retailers, they are not able
to use it in an actionable way. There is too much data, it is not understood what data is valid,
and finally how to actually use it to trigger actions that can drive a better experience for the
customer and create the relevant actions from it (buy, sell, move, display, and interact with
customers). The Vision of this Solution is to collect social behavior and understand patterns (products, brands,
price points, geo location, customer experience) to use as feeds to drive Retail activities such as
Planning, Pricing, Stock Movement, Store Layout, Customer experience and targeted campaigns. Internship - Goals: The Goals of this internship is to create a Solution to Understand patterns of Social behavior and
create feeds to drive: - Planning - Pricing - Replenishment/Allocation of stock - Store Layouts - Customer Experience in Omni-channel - Targeted Campaigns This solution will feature a key component to transform Sentiment Analysis from Social Media into
Actionable Measures of an Operational System. Its components will rely upon Artificial Intelligence
for the purpose of Sentiment Analysis (featuring HOLMES from Wipro) for Cognitive Analysis,
Transformation of that same Analysis in a Rule Based Platform (goal of this internship) into
Measures, and input of those same measures into the Operational System. Two phases are expected in this process: - Step 1 – Dashboard creation to show Social preferences in Products, Brands by Geographical
Locations – to assist in buying/moving of stock process - Step 2 – Suggestion of buying/moving/pricing of items based on rules defined in
transformation engine Internship - Plan: Activities in scope of this Solution: 1. High Level Design of the Solution – completed by Architecture Team of Wipro 2. Evaluation of Data Discovery Platform from Wipro based on AI (HOLMES) – collection of
Sentiment Analysis 3. Build of Product Taxonomy for a Retailer 4. Detail Design with Data Discovery Platform Team 5. Transformation Engine Design and Build 6. Proof of Concept with Operational System using Data Discovery Platform powered by HOLMES,
Transformation Engine and Product Taxonomy. Innovation Aspects / Scientific Relevance: - Use of Cognitive Platform for Sentiment Analysis of Raw Data collected from Social Media - Transformation of Sentiment patterns into Operational measures, and therefore actionable
