exhilarating place to be in. Internship - Context: In today’s environment, the need to upgrade an operational system is brought on by the need to
stay up to date, have support, and also bring new functionalities to the business. Software companies release new versions at a much faster pace than they used to, due to the
ever-changing demands of the business. Internship - Introduction: The traditional model of upgrading a system requires: - Greater Commitment in terms of time from subject matter experts of the Client - Manual process and execution of scripts which lead to a slower assessment - Increased analysis time by developers when scanning the code The objective of this solution is to provide a quick assessment of the upgrade requirements and
therefore: - De-risk the upgrade project, providing more predictability - Accelerate upgrade assessment and upgrade execution - Efficient planning and management to reduce downtime window Internship - Goals: The Goals of this internship is to create a Solution that will deliver: - Business Intelligence Dashboard - Automated Impact Analysis - Reduction in Overall time The solution must provide in an automated fashion: - Calculation of the effort of an upgrade - Graphical representation of assessment data - Impact analysis of customized objects - Identify risks associated with the upgrade The intent is to create: 1. Extraction engine over the operational system to obtain data (source version crawler) 2. Processing engine to analyze data (delta between source version and target version to obtain
delta, including customizations impacts, change propagation impacts, relationship matrix,
dependency tree analysis) 3. Reporting engine (delta description, dependency tree, objects enumeration, port forward CEMLI
efforts estimation, Inference reports with metrics and recommendations) Internship - Plan: Activities in scope of this Solution: 1. High Level Design of the Solution 2. Design and Build of Extraction Engine 3. Design and Build of Processing Engine 4. Design and Build of Reporting Engine 5. Proof of Concept – savings between manual upgrade assessment vs automated Innovation Aspects / Scientific Relevance: - Go beyond the current state of art of use of Automation to analyze systems, to provide an easy
